before we begin

Friends! Advent begins this Sunday, November 29th! I am so excited.

(If you are just hearing about it, see my previous post(s) for more information, then read the following!)

Logistically speaking, here are a few reminders you need to know before we begin:

  1. If you haven’t already, follow my blog, Bird Songs and Saints. You’re reading this, so obviously, you’ve found it. Follow in order to get the daily post right to your inbox.

  2. I have prepared one meditation for each day, beginning Sunday. Feel free to read them all, or a few a week. I will be posting them daily though, so you can’t read ahead. :) My hope is that it can be a daily practice, that it feels like a journey, one step at a time.

  3. Structure: at the start of each week, there will be an essay-type post around the theme of the week, and the following days will have a variety of: scripture readings, poems, songs, piano recordings of carols with lyrics, and art made by my lovely friends based on the texts!

  4. Some days will have opportunities for you to engage with the material and journal or make your own art, so keep an eye out for that. Feel free to engage however best fits you on any day, though, even if I do not necessarily prompt you!

  5. If you want to share your art, your thoughts, etc. please, please reach out! I love hearing from you. It means a lot. You can message me directly here !

  6. If any day moves you, please, please share with others! If you know others who might enjoy or benefit from this, please share it with them and spread the word!

That’s all on my end. If you have logistical or technical questions and cannot get things to work, please ask me and let me know. This is a first for me, and we are working through it together!

Again, I am so thankful for you being here, and so humbled that you chose to be. What a gift you are.

The curtain is rising and it is time! I will see you on Sunday!
